Civica consolidates local government market position with acquisition of Management & Executive Software

Local government software vendor Civica Pty Ltd has announced the acquisition of Management & Executive Software Pty Ltd (MES).  MES is a market leader in the provision of budgeting, reporting and performance management applications for local government.

By acquiring Melbourne-based MES, Civica enhances the functionality of its own solutions, expanding the capability of its Authority enterprise suite for local government. Civica also gains 17 additional staff and additional local government customers, taking the total in Australia to more than 300.

MES’s applications give Civica’s clients access to technology in financial analysis, reporting and budgeting, strategic business planning and performance management.  The two companies already have some 30 clients in common, including the City of Mitcham in South Australia, Dubbo City Council in NSW and the City of Nedlands in Western Australia.

In the past two years, Civica has also acquired Fujitsu’s local government business in Australia and New Zealand; Electionz.com’s local government business in New Zealand, and Queensland-based Practical Computer Services Pty Ltd’s local government business.
